May 18 - 2011: The Uganda Wildlife Authority (UWA) has reduced the price of Gorilla Tracking Permits - slashing the prices of the permits from $500 to $350 for foreign non-residents - foreign residents will pay $250 and East African citizen will pay $350 Uganda Giorilla Permits 100,000 Uganda Shillings - the normal price being 250,000 Uganda Shillings.

This has been done to allow more people to participate in Gorilla Tracking at Bwindi Impenetrable Forest. Two new gorilla groups are presently being habituated for human presence and more permits will be available. Presently 64 permits are available daily, soon it will be 80 permits per day. That means that 80 people a day can go gorilla Tracking.

This will give access to gorilla tracking to more visitors to Uganda - who often during the peak seasons of the summer months and December and Feburary were unable to visit the gentle of giants of the ancient Forest.

Earlier in 2011 -the discussion was around raising the price of Gorilla Permits to $750 - so the reduction twice a year to $350 per person is most welcome-most of all by visitors to Uganda who can save $150 and track Gorilla in the save location of Bwindi Impenetrable Forest.
