Aristoc Books:  One of the few bookstores in Uganda where you can find books of all kinds, but especially about Uganda, its history and culture.  One of my favorite places to spend an hour just browsing and finding something where I can learn more about Uganda.  Two locations, one on Kampala Road and one in the Garden City Mall.

Garden City Mall:  Here you can have lunch, dinner in the food court, shop until you drop from groceries to Ugandan crafts.  As far as crafts are concerned you will most likely pay a bit more but you will not have to go through the bargaining ritual.

National Theater Craft Market:  Here you can find  most anything made in Uganda with a bit of Kenya thrown in. This craft market has been around for many years and I have bought many a gift there.

Buganda Road Women's Craft Market:  You will support some Ugandan women when you buy you gifts there.  Nice selection including many fabrics, Ugandan shirts called kitenge.  I will take you an hour or more to pick through all the stalls there.  Walk across the road and have a cup of Ugandan coffee at 1000 cups.

Owino Market:  Need some extra clothing, this is the place to come too, used and new clothing, hundreds of shops, this is where Kampala shops.

Nakasero Market:  This where you can buy any fresh food item, Choose the best bananas or pineapple in the world.  Great mangos, papaya, jackfruit, even some Ugandan apples.  Located near taxi park.

Ban Cafe:  Buy some good Ugandan coffee to take home.  You can also have a muffin while you are selecting the kind of coffee you want. Located at Grand Imperial Hotel.

  Friday Craft Market:  Buy Direct from the creators and artists of the crafts from carving to African Jewelry.  If you are in Kampala on a Friday, this is not to be missed.
