Uganda Safari Guest Comments

Comments from our Guests after they completed their Safari

Clients on SafariThere is a certain risk in going on a Safari in a far away country such as Uganda since most of the pre-safari business is done via email and it is not until after the Safari that one really knows that they have made the right choice in going with our Tour and Travel Company in Uganda.

Our guests and clients come as tourists, volunteer workers, businessmen or women, students, researchers to Uganda.  They do have something in common, to go on Safari and see the natural wonders of the pearl of Africa-Uganda.

Our focus is always you, and you experiencing the pearl of Africa-Uganda while here.  Your satisfaction is foremost on our minds as we put together a Safari package for you in Uganda.

Dear Jon,

Thank you to Kabiza for organising a seamless and excellent itinerary. Everything was perfect; the activities, pace, accommodation and Remmy was the man - an excellent guide, driver and travelling companion. I have never used a tour operator before as I have always travelled independently and, indeed, as a guide myself leading groups throughout southern Africa and South America. I can not recommend you highly enough. Incidentally, the van was the best van I could ever imagine taking on a trip - bags of legroom and totally comfortable!

I will never forget the intimacy of experience with the Gorilla's and Chimpanzees and I can not wait to return to Uganda for another trip soon. Next on our list is the Rwenzori's 7 day trek. Ruboni was a really good addition to our itinerary - I'd recommend you take clients there for a gentle forest walk. We climbed a 2800m peak which was absolutely exhausting! I wouldn't recommend anyone does this as the route is direct up the side of the hill at 60-75 degrees angle but we loved it. I am sure that all of your clients would appreciate the ambience of the foothills here a and the mountains provide a good break from the ubiquitous Kob!

Over the next couple of years one of my plans is UK based tour operator. You would be my first choice of ground handlers for Uganda!

Thanks once again,

Dave

Just a note to tell you how much we enjoyed our safari to Murchison Falls and side excursions. We especially appreciated Geoffrey - he is an excellent driver and was sensitive and responsive to our interests, knowledgeable and incredibly patient. He handled everything with great professionalism. We had good success on the animal drives and boat launch

as well as on the chimp walk (although, as an old, overweight woman, I suffered some from the forest heat and terrain but our companions thoroughly enjoyed the walk and were rewarded with encounters with more chimps than my husband and I had). I don't know if you request specific rangers for your groups but the guides we had were excellent -- knowledgeable and very responsive to our questions and fun, too! We enjoyed the luxury of Paraa Lodge and being able to say we stayed in a jungle tree house!

Thanks very much for creating such a memorable experience for us. Please extend our greetings and appreciation to Geoffrey as well.

Best regards,

Sharon

Hey Jon:

Just got home (spent the day at Windsor enroute to US)
Had an awesome time on Safari, great job with connections/details, we really enjoyed Geoffry, the roads aren't THAT bad,  thank you so much for your expertise!
Have to agree with you, Uganda is a gem and the people are amazing.  My daughter literally was crying when we left, she is already making plans to return next summer for a longer period.
If you ever need a reference for a client let us know,
Tunaala bagana,

Randy

Hello Jon,

I am sitting here back in England. I spoke to my daughter on the phone this morning and she asked why I was up so early. I replied that we had to be up early to see the best of the wildlife and I am still on Ugandan time!

Jon, the trip was one of our best holidays. We love Uganda, always have, always will. The unique beauty treatments that the roadsOne of our clients stopping to greet a child. offered us, a gentle dusting of red dust and a thorough massage, were for us mere expectations of the trip.

Pablo (Bird Nest) was a character and we got on very well with him. By the way, the pool is expected to be completed in November. At the moment it is a mere shell in the ground. To paddle down the Lake and hear distant singing, then slowly the canoe full of church-goers pass us by, their voices so melodic carrying on the air...just beautiful.

We brought 23kg of toys for the children, all of it gone. So many smiling faces and looks of disbelief as we hand over pink balls and lollipops. Some children are scared and run away, we coax them back with a smile and an open hand, they return shyly and laugh at the gifts we offer them ...such memories are priceless.

I was able to present my school with some footballs and a few books and a flute. It is now Government owned and very lacking in facilities, it was good to give something back to my first place of education.

We have only praise for this trip and Joachim said that this was the first African country he could see himself settling in.

To be serenaded by the screams of the Chimps and to watch a baby gorilla sway over towards us in curiosity. To rescue the green chameleon from the road and give Reme a big fright as I put it on my arm. To hear the sounds of the wild as you lay down for the night (especially in the tree house!).

To marvel at the delicate patterns of hairy caterpillars to the extravagance of the hippo yawn. To be won-over by those lovable warthogs! To feel a pang of sorrow at the clusters of water buffalo  who belong to the ‘losers’ club. (you can ask Reme about this if you don’t know.

The sighting of a leopard, just dozing by our car, then carefully getting up and sauntering past with all the time in the world.

To hike up the Murchison Falls, get soaked by the spray and reminisce over my childhood where my father says that we used to jump across the stones at the top to the other side!!

I could go on Jon, as you know! I have written a diary and we have many photos and videos. If you wish I can send you some when Joachim has sorted them out.

Your car was most comfortable and Reme an extremely good driver. We always felt very safe with him. He had much patience as we asked him to go off the road and visit a village school or quickly stop to hand out a toy for a lonely child on the roadside.

I feel that we had given him a good time with our company too!

Your ‘burps’ were merely that Jon, an embellishment of our trip and already woven into the fabric of our journey.

I wish to say a big Thank You to you Jon, Uganda will always have a place in my heart. I wish I could bring my whole family back for a last experience for them.

Chris the manager at Mihingo asked if we would ever return. I replied that there are so many places on our planet we have still to explore, and yet, and yet, Uganda calls......

Warm wishes once again from England

Cindy and Joachim

Mick:  I am quite impressed with the job you are doing and the Kabiza operation.  I called many companies to request price quotes, and yours was the most straight forward and informative one of them all.

Susan:

I have often thought I need to sit down and write you and Geoffrey a thank you for a wonderful trip.  Instead I seem to have been spending time on my hundreds of photos of a very memorable trip.

The safaris were wonderful, but I think the time spent with the children, both in Kampala and on the road was the most memorable

... the safari was absolutely fantastic - we all enjoyed the experience so much.  The driver was great - quiet but efficient and we had complete confidence in his driving.  The journey there seemed to pass very quickly - we loved the Lodge (Paraa) - lovely staff, good service and a wonderful location.  The game drives we will never forget, and what was the best thing was the open-top roof!  When we saw other vehicles without this option we realised just how fortunate we were.  Thank you so much - the whole trip to Murchison was somewhere we won't forget in a hurry and thankfully we have many wonderful photos to remember it by.
