Child Sponsorship Trips to Uganda

Spend One or Two Life Changing Weeks in the Heart of Africa building new relationships with your sponsored child in Uganda

From the Arrival to your departure, your time in Uganda will be a most fulfilling time for you and your sponsored Child.  The following are some of the things of what can be when you come to Uganda to meet your sponsored child here.  Below is a list of some of the things we will provide for you during your stay here

  • Full pre-arrival support from visas, flight tickets if needed, advice on packing and on what to bring.

  • Airport Meeting - Greeting:  We will meet you with the sponsored child at the Entebbe Airport where you will most likely arrive unless you are coming by bus from Nairobi, Kenya or Kigali, Rwanda.  Such times are usually very heartwarming.

  • Transportation during your week or two of stay in Uganda with a qualified English Speaking Driver.

  • Assistance from one of our Child-workers at all times during your stay.  In most cases the child will speak some English, the worker will assist with any translation if needed.  The worker will also assist with any social customs here and of course assist with any other needs you might have.

  • Accommodations of your choice, from a local group of guest houses we are associated with to any quality of hotel you might choose

  • Meals which include Breakfast - Lunch and Dinner on a daily basis.  Included are restaurant outings with child.

  • Home Visit:  Visiting the child in his or her home.  Most every child will have some kind of home even if mother or father have died, there will be an auntie, grandmother or some other relative.  We will follow the normal Ugandan custom of bringing some practical gifts purchased here such as sugar, soap, oil, flour, bread, all things that are sometimes lacking in a home of an average family in Uganda.

  • School Visits:  Spend a day at the school where the child you are sponsoring attends.  This will be a most interesting time for you.  Meeting with the teacher of the child for a progress update and learning needs of child.

  • A day at the Zoo:  Every child loves a day at a Zoo.  Most Ugandan children have never been there because of cost and transport.  Includes a delightful lunch on the beach on Lake Victoria and if time permits a visit to Entebbe Botanical Gardens. Most often the child has never eaten things such as a pizza and this restaurant makes a superb one.  This provides plenty of time for bonding between you and the child.

  • A day Shopping Uganda Style:  Spend a morning shopping for clothes for the child at Owino Market.  One of the largest markets in Uganda.  For a small amount of money you can buy various kinds of clothes for child for different occasions.  It will be much appreciated. Lunch at the closest thing to a McDonalds we have in Kampala and buy some Ugandan souvenirs for your trip home.

  • Sunday with your child:  Early that morning we take you with your child to Bugolobi Church for Children where you will meet hundreds of children who come from nearby slums to attend a morning service just for your children.  Have lunch with your sponsored child and visit some of Kampala's sights with meaning and that most likely have never been seen by most children such as Kasubi Tombs where the Buganda Kingdom Kabakas are buried and is filled with historic significance.  The Martyr's Shrine where 20 some young men were killed because they have refused to renounce their Christian Faith, the National Museum and dinner and entertainment from the Ndere Troupe that evening with songs from all over Uganda in the traditional way.  A most lovely ending for a great day.

  • Didi's World Visit:  Kampala's Disneyland, every Ugandan loves it and adults of course join in.

  • A day in Jinja with your sponsored child:  No visit to Uganda is complete without a visit to the town of Jinja with its historic Asian Homes, the source of the Nile, Bujagali Falls, a lunch overlooking the Nile and a visit to Mabira Rain Forest.

  • Farewell Dinner with child and Child Worker:  Goodbye's are sad, but this one will be a good one since you have come closer to a child whose life you are impacting and transforming due to your help and input.

  • Departure:  We take you with the child to the airport and wish you a safe journey.

You can see that your time here will be most enriching and fully supported by us and by our staff who will assist you in every possible manner.  We can add a safari to your time here with or without the sponsored child.  Let us know what you would like to do while in Uganda or allow us to present to you a schedule within in time range here and your budget.
