Day 1:
Depart
your lodging in Kampala for Queen Elizabeth Park at 6:30 am
- heading for Queen
Elizabeth Park and your Tented Safari Camp Adventure in the
Wild. Drive through the Ugandan countryside and we are
heading for the Bush Lodge at Queen Elizabeth Park.
This small, intimate lodge is set just outside of park
overlooking the famed Kazinga Channel. Your tents has
all the comforts you will need for your stay and is self
contained. Each tent has its own veranda where you can
relax in the morning as the sun rises or with a cold drink
in the late afternoon.
Away from the
crowds and often you will see more wildlife moving in and
out of the camp than people. Each tent is self
contained with attached bath, the shower has two heads and
comes at a moderate price, full board.
From
here you can easily access the wildlife game tracks of the
Mweya area of the park and also you are not far from the
Kyambura Gorge with its Chimpanzee Tracking.
You arrive in
time for lunch and you will spend the next two nights in
this lovely camp.
Enjoy your lunch
and get settled in.
In the late
afternoon it is time for your first Wildlife Tracking Ride
with Wildlife and Bird Expert who will not let you
miss a thing and answer any questions you might have.
Lions, Leopards, Elephants, Buffaloes, Antelopes in
abundance as you ride across the savannah and rolling hills
of Queen Elizabeth Park with the Rwenzori gracing the
background.
Dinner at Bush
Lodge and settle in for a night in the African Bush with its
distinct sounds as you drift off into sleep.
Day
2: Breakfast at Bush Lodge - filling, sumptuous
and making you ready for your time with the chimpanzees at
Kyambura Gorge. There is nothing like a hearty
breakfast in the African Bush, even vegetarians just might
be tempted by the smell of the sizzling bacon and sausages.
A cup of Rwenzori Mountain Coffee made from Arabica Beans,
or a cup of our lovely tea from nearby plantations,
pineapple to live for...it is Breakfast Time in the Bush at
Bush Lodge.
Kyambura Gorge
Chimpanzee Tracking is next - The gorge is part of the the
giant Rift Valley, the place where you will meet your
chimpanzee group. The chimpanzees move daily building
new nests each day. The chimpanzees are habituated,
meaning that they are used to human beings. You will
spot other wildlife and birds as you move along on your
three hour time of tracking.
Lunch
at Bush Lodge - well deserved
A more easy time
in the afternoon as you take a wildlife and Birding Boat
Ride on the famous Kazinga Channel. Buffaloes,
Elephants, Antelopes, Crocodiles, Pelicans, Fish Eagle,
thousands of them. A feast for your eyes and for your
camera.
Dinner at Bush
Lodge
Then a surprise -
A Nocturnal Game Drive with spotlights to see the predators
out at night on the hunt and others, hyenas, lions,
leopards, keep your eyes open and allow your guide to point
out the various animals around you. A fabulous
experience and a time to remember.
Day 3: Breakfast in the Bush at Bush Lodge. Time to check out
and move on to another tented lodge in the wilderness, but
first it is a morning game drive, the last one in the Mweya
area of the Park. See some familiar animals but always
in a
different setting. Surprises and with 90 some mammals
in the park there is always a surprise around the corner.
We
move toward the Ishasha Plains of the Park toward our new
lodging for the night Ishasha Wilderness Tented Camp - a
luxury Up-Market Camp where you will be pampered and cared
for in fashion.
Settle into your
large Tent and enjoy the view and often the wildlife that is
near such as elephants coming to water and you can watch
them from your veranda of your tent.
Lunch-not just
lunch but well prepared and well thought out lunch-prepared
with love and the presentation is most graceful, surprising
visitors to this setting.
Afternoon Game
Drive with Wildlife Expert across the Ishasha Plains in
search of Tree Climbing Lions, Leopards, herds of Buffaloes,
Elephants, antelopes and lots of savannah birds. You will
also notice a vast absence of Safari Vehicles in this part
of the park.
Dinner and a
glorious celebratory dinner it is in this Luxury Tented
Camp. It probably has been a most eventful day for you
and there is much to discuss as you sit there delighting in
your evening meal as the sun or after the sun sets.
Once again you
settle down and go to asleep with the sound of the African
Wild - and the incredible quiet that is there...as you look
up you will probably find a vas sea of stars grace the
Night.
Day
4: Breakfast on the Ishasha Plains, the nearby
river gurgling by and morning birds chirping away, in the
distance some animals are moving away. Morning has
come to Queen Elizabeth National Park.
Sadly some things
should not end, but it is time to check out - afterwards it
is a morning drive through the Ishasha Plains taking another
look and last look at the tree climbing lions and the
abundance of wildlife found in that part of the park.
We head for
Kampala - stop for lunch in Mbarara - visit the Equator and
if time permits and you wish the Buganda Royal Drum Makers,
