Safaris - Where
we apply the principles of "Responsible Tourism."
Safaris and Tours are one thing but we are guided
by Responsible Tourism Principles that are deeply ingrained within every
member of our Team that make
up Kabiza Wilderness Safaris.
Practices of Kabiza Wilderness Safaris
that promote a sound Environment, assist local businesses and local
community development and fair labor practices including Ugandan Laws
and Regulations:
Environmental Considerations:

As we take you on a safari we do the best that
we can to minimize the impact on the environment by using sound
and well maintained vehicles in order to reduce fuel consumption
and reduce the pollution impact on the environment.

No off-road or off track driving.

Training of Staff, Drivers and Guides in Responsible
Tourism, sound Environmental Practices such as minimizing litter
and properly disposing such in a manner that have the least impact
on the environment.

Cooking with propane gas instead of using charcoal
or firewood.
Employment Practices:
-
We hire Ugandan Staff and pay them an above standard
salary.

We develop staff through through ongoing training
including environmental , conservation and cross-cultural awareness.
Local Businesses:
-
We select lodging facilities that with sound
environmental practices such as the use of rainwater, using solar
electricity, eco-friendly toilets, recycling and proper disposal
of rubbish without burning and waste water is properly treated and
disposed of.

We focus on Ugandan owned accommodation facilities
that reinvest into Uganda into the local community nearby.

We purchase Ugandan goods and use Ugandan suppliers
whenever possible since we desire to promote Uganda and help Ugandans
to find meaningful and rewarding jobs that allow them to prosper
and help their families.

We abstain buying goods or services from any
company, business, lodging facility that does not hold the values
that we do.
Conservation Causes:
-
We create an awareness in our staff and clients
regarding issues that may affect Tourism and Conservation, National
Parks, Wetlands and Wildlife in a negative manner.

We will support communities that are near parks
and put forth an effort in maintaining harmony between communities
and the national parks or and or wildlife reserves.
Community Projects:

We support an outreach program to children born
into slums of Kampala in the form of education, including a unique
church for children that has over 500 children attend on any Sunday
and are followed up during the week by social workers to assess
their home situation and to see how they can be helped through education
and other assistance..

We assist KIN Initiative Orphanage and are in the
process of building a library for them that will assist in the education
of children. A playground is also in the planning.
