outside of Jinja about 1 kilometer from Owen's Dam and the bridge
from Kampala.
Gately on the Nile (Up-Market

Two colonial era estates transformed into Gately on the Nile.
There is a lovely garden overlooking Lake Victoria. Gately
on the
Nile has class and style and is beautiful facility. It
is a Bed and Breakfast with great rooms. 12 rooms different
tastes and budgets. There area some room with shared facilities,
while the others are all self contained.
The food is quite different
for Uganda, a touch of Mexico is available besides the many
continental dishes that can be found here.
It is a change of pace
and one could call it non-institutional, a change from the usual
to class at most every budget.
Nile Porch Budget toUp-Market$-$$$:
An up-market lodging facility overlooking the spectacular
Bujagali
Falls.
The perfect place to stay while you go rafting on the Nile from
mild to wild. Come back to the perfect setting, have dinner
at the Black Lantern, nice menu to order from. There are
luxury tents with thatched roofing and your bathroom with a
view, or family cabins to choose from.
The
location is everything being right on top of Bujagali Falls,
and if you are not going to dip into the Nile while rafting
you can always take a dip into the pool.
The Haven (Moderate) $$: The setting is on the Nile
River overlooking some rapids, the sound of rushing water reaches
your ears and everything else is quiet, with exception of the
sound
of
maybe a Fish Eagle overhead. The place is isolated, you
do not hear any traffic, it is simply a haven overlooking the
majestic Nile. The German owner has done a fabulous job
creating an eco-friendly accommodation with solar lighting,
the use of rainwater and more. The German owner is strongly
committed to responsible tourism and works closely with the
local community around him providing meaningful employment for
many.
Accommodations
vary luxury cabins to more moderate, but all share the fabulous
setting, the fantastic continental fare in the restaurant, a
nice place to stay in Jinja.

thousands of customers over the year, the rooms are
comfortable, many with view of the Nile River.
The restaurant serves Italian, Chinese, Indian and African
dishes. So you certainly have a variety.
Most of the restaurant is now enclosed as it in the
old days much of i was on a patio overlooking the Nile,
but now you are protected from the elements and there
are large windows giving you a nice view of Lake Victoria
and the Nile. There is also a swimming pool found at
the Sunset Hotel.
