Jacana Safari Lodge (Up-Market Luxury):$$$ Located at the northern end
of Maramagambo Forest overlooking Lake Nyamasingiri,
Uganda's largest volcanic
crater lake, wood and thatch construction owned by GeoLodges.
10 rooms with private verandahs overlooking the lake tugged
into the Maramagambo Forest...simply awesome location.
The Bar and the restaurant are
literally suspended over the lake with a stunning view as
you have a drink, lunch or dinner at the lodge. You can even
watch the animals while you eat. The food is superb
and prepared to International Standards. Lovely and
kind service by an attentive staff and here you are
overlooking the largest crater lake in Uganda. If you
are in your room and want service you ring a bell and
someone will come along to tend to your requests.
GeoLodges
has done a most beautiful job putting this taste of paradise
together in harmony with its surroundings. Geolodges
owns some other choice properties in Uganda such as the Nile
Safari Lodge at Murchison Falls, Rainforest Lodge
at Mabira Forest and Silverback Lodge at Bwindi Impenetrable
Forest. In other words, they know what they are doing
and serve clients from around the world in a consistent and
gracious manner.
You can hire a boat and even eat lunch
or dinner on it...the Captain's Table, appropriately called.
The Swimming pool is simply beautiful and also overlooks the
lake.
